Bluecurrent (formerly Vector Metering)
Vector Limited holds a 50% investment in Bluecurrent.
Bluecurrent is the largest provider of smart metering services in the region with a fleet of over two million energy meters across Australia and New Zealand. With a focus on providing innovative metering and data services for the benefit of energy consumers, coupled with their advanced technology platforms, Bluecurrent provides consistent and reliable data and energy management services to more than 60 electricity retailers across Australia and New Zealand.
The VTS and Vector nexus
VTS was established to leverage the significant investments Vector has made to transform and digitise the Vector group businesses, bringing new capability to market to support and enable other critical infrastructure providers in New Zealand.
Bluecurrent (formerly Vector Metering, which was part of the Vector Group until 30 June 2023) has extensive experience managing large-scale smart meter data. Bluecurrent identified the need for a flexible meter data management platform. As a result, VTS, in conjunction with AWS, built Diverge using the latest cloud native serverless technology.
VTS is providing Diverge as a service to Bluecurrent and also offering the solution to operators of smart meters globally.
